“I lost my periods for a year” – Sophie Turner

Sophie Turner, the GOT star has been in limelight because of her body. She was in the public eye and her all the extra calories were being counted and that made her take the drastic step towards extreme dieting.

But extreme dieting definitely has quite a bad impact on her health. She shares “I stopped having my period for a year—that’s when I decided to have therapy”. She stepped into the acting world when she was just 13 and people reacted negatively to her images and she was the target of what we call as digital backlash.

She shared “Suddenly, everyone’s metabolism slows down at 17, 18 and then that’s documented,”

She recalls “I was too aware of my body at a young age. It just kind of took over my mind, it was all I would think about. Calorie counting, everything. Oh, I’ll just eat nuts today.”

Extreme dieting which is also known as crash dieting is an extremely unhealthy and dangerous way to lose weight. Some people just like Sophie eventually don’t consume anything the entire day just to lose weight. Extreme dieting is actually starvation and the body goes in a state of shock because it is not getting anything. Also, extreme dieting also slows down the metabolism rate of your body as well.
