As a team of experienced dentists, we have found that eucalyptus oil is effective in fighting cavities, dental plaque, gingivitis as well as preventing other oral infections. Eucalyptus oil fights germicidal properties in the mouth. Due to this feature, eucalyptus oil is a common active ingredient in mouthwash, toothpaste and other dental hygiene products. Try the same mixture above, but with less water. You can keep your toothbrush sitting in this mixture between brushes. Just remember to change it every few days. You can even make your own toothpaste at home by mixing a strong herbal infusion of mint extract, thyme extract, flower water, myrrh gum extract and eucalyptus oil.
Avoid adding hydrogen peroxide to your mouthwash or toothpaste. While it is common in both mouthwashes and toothpastes, it is known to irritate the gums.
