It is also essential for the proper functioning of muscles, nerves, and heart. We need to get calcium from food because the human body cannot make it on its own.

Well, there are many antioxidants–rich diets which have been found to prevent cancer but researcher suggests that proper calcium intake may also prevent ovarian, colorectal and breast cancer.

Some of the researchers conclude that high dose of calcium may increase the risk of prostate cancer. The National Cancer Institute does not recommend supplementation but it promotes sufficient calcium intake through dietary sources.

Calcium has been found to have slimming effects on the body and it is used in small amount throughout the body. In the female, hormonal changes can affect the mineralization process, therefore, sufficient consumption of calcium is mandatory.

Healthy for Heart

Many of among people do not know that calcium is lost every day through hair, nail, skin, urine, sweat, and feces. This loss amount must be replaced, or body system will take calcium from the bones to perform other functions in a better way.

Many researchers’ support sufficient calcium intake as a way to reduce or minimize the risk of cardiac system and hypertension. Lack of calcium can cause many heart problems as well as blood pressure issues.
