6 Natural Ways to Get Thicker Hair- Just Like in Advertisements

1. Henna leaves

Earlier, people used to grow henna plant in their gardens but now the scene has changed a bit. If it is not in your garden collection then still you can get its leaves extract or its powder in nearest local shop. This age old proven method conditions your hair and makes it soft and thicker.

Method 1:

  • Take handful of henna leaves and grind them in a mixer with some water or take dried henna powder and little water to it.
  • Make a fine paste of it and leave it for few hours.
  • Apply this paste on your scalp and entire hair length.
  • Cover your head with a shower cap.
  • Leave it for three hours and then wash it with cold water.
  • You can also apply conditioner after washing off the henna.

Method 2:

  • Soak henna powder in a bowl for overnight.
  • Add a raw egg and 1 – 2 tablespoons of lemon juice to this paste.
  • Mix it well and apply it on your hair evenly.
  • Cover your head with a shower cap.
  • Let it stay for half an hour or so.
  • Wash it off with lukewarm water.

You have to use this treatment twice or thrice a week to get effective result.

2. Flax seeds

Flaxseed has many benefits and it is mainly used as nutrient supplement. It helps in hair growth and the fatty acids present in flaxseed helps in thickening of hair.

  • Soak three tablespoons of flaxseeds in water for five days.
  • Dab a cotton ball in the flaxseed solution and apply it on the scalp evenly.
  • Leave it for ten minutes and then wash it off with lukewarm water.
  • Use this treatment on regular basis to get thick and shiny hair.

You can also eat a teaspoon of flax seed oil or ground flaxseed to get thick and glossy hair.

3. Fenugreek seeds

Fenugreek seed has many digestive properties but it is also found to be effective for hair growth. It prevents hair loss and enhances the new hair growth while adding volume to your existing hair by thickening them.

  • Soak 2 – 3 tablespoons of fenugreek seeds for 10 hours or overnight.
  • Make a thick paste of it by adding little water to it in a mixer.
  • Apply this hair pack on your scalp and entire hair length evenly.
  • Cover your hair with a shower cap and let it stay for half an hour.
  • Wash it off with lukewarm water.

Use this treatment on regular basis to add volume to your hair. You can also use the water which you have used for soaking fenugreek seeds to rinse your hair. Regular use of this treatment removes dandruff, promote new hair growth and prevent graying of hair.

4. Orange juice

Orange is rich in vitamin C and its citric acid property helps in fight off the dandruff. It improves the hair growth and thickens the hair.

Method 1:

  • Take the orange peel and mash it finely in a beater to make a pulp out of it.
  • Apply this pulp on your hair as hair pack.
  • Leave it for 15 – 20 minutes and cover your head.
  • Wash it off with a mild shampoo.

Use it at least once a week to get positive results.

Method 2:

  • Take orange juice and apple puree in equal proportion and mix them well.
  • Apply this mix on your scalp and hair length.
  • Leave it for half an hour and then wash it off with plain water.

You can also mix orange juice with olive oil in equal amount and apply it on the scalp. You can wash it off after 30 minutes. This is an easy treatment and very effective too.

5. Castor oil

Nobody can deny the advantages of castor oil due to its rich source of vitamin E and fatty acids. These components promote hair growth and due to its high viscosity it forms a layer over the hair strand and prevents hair fall.

  • Take castor oil and coconut oil in equal proportion and heat it for a while. You can also use castor oil individually but it would be very thick.
  • Let it cool down and apply it on your scalp and massage it in circular motion.
  • Apply the oil evenly on your hair length by combing in between to remove tangles.
  • Cover your head with a warm steamed towel to facilitate the absorbance of oil into the scalp.
  • Leave it for an hour and then wash it off with a mild shampoo.

Use this treatment at least once a week on regular basis for better results.

6. Egg

Egg is one of the richest sources of proteins and it is frequently used in hair care treatment and there are many egg protein based hair products. Rather than going for expensive hair product, try this simple and easy method to get thick and shiny hair.

Method 1:

  • Beat two medium sized eggs in a bowl.
  • Wet your hair and apply this solution on it.
  • Leave it for 10 – 15 minutes duration.
  • Wash it off with a mild shampoo to remove its bad smell.

Method 2:

  • Mix an egg yolk with regular hair oil and little amount of water.
  • Massage your scalp with this mixture thoroughly.
  • Leave it for 10 minutes
  • Wash it off with lukewarm water and then with a mild shampoo.
