The DVD program has runtime of one hour and 25 minutes. It opens with an introductory note from Nicki Doane about Ashtanga yoga, then the two parts of Surya Namaskar or Sun salutation and it is described and demonstrated in a beginners approach to give a better understanding. These sun salutations help you in increasing your flexibility and cardiovascular ability which will sculpt lean muscles. There are standing poses of the primary series, which is designed in such a way that it helps your body in re-aligning the skeletal system and cleanse out the toxins from the body. It removes spine related problem like hunched back and gives you extra inches to your height. There are Ashtanga yoga demonstrations instructed with the soothing voice of Nicki Doane in the program and it finish with the interview of the yoga teacher. There is this unique feature in the DVD program known as a pose guide which helps you in receiving additional information on the proper alignment for a certain pose during practice by just pressing the enter key and a pose guide will appear on your monitor. After getting the information you can resume the video from where you have left it. This feature will help you in understanding each pose more clearly and you can set your pace accordingly. After all exercises, corpse pose is demonstrated for relaxation of the body.
This program focuses more on the breathing part therefore don’t compromise on your breath over a pose. This poses can be seen to be challenging and a bit difficult but after practicing them few times, you will actually enjoy them and feel their positive result. You can make some changes to the poses according to your abilities since your adult body is not used to the stretching stuff, but still you can try to move your body as far as possible into a pose.
