Famous Short People in the United States and Globally

However, being short doesn’t necessarily mean to be low in self-confidence and self esteem. Many short people have proved that height is not a blocking agent towards their dream. To attain success one requires hard work and stern determination to reach out to his goal with as much as his possibility. You should remember that if you devote yourself towards your goal and nothing can prevent you to attain it. You only need to work hard to make your dream come true. There are many examples of people who are short and famous. Let us check a few of them who has earned success for themselves despite their short stature.

Mahatma Gandhi

He was Indian freedom fighter and one of the greatest leaders of the pre independence movement in the British ruled India. With his nonviolent civil disobedience movement, Gandhi led India to independence. He fought for the civil rights and freedom across the world. A man with a short stature of 5 feet 3 inches, Gandhi was a very influential leader of India. His struggle for the freedom of India won him the love and affection of the masses and was popularly as ‘Bapu’. For his immense contribution in the freedom fight of the country, he was titled as the ‘Father of the nation’.

Emmanuel Lewis

Emmanuel Lewis, an American Actor, born in March 9, 1971 and he stand at a height of 4 ft 3 inch. He rose to fame in 1980, with his title character in the comedy series Webster. Lewis completed his studies from the Midwood High School in 1989 and then Clark Atlanta University in 1997. He is usually compared to the star of ‘Diff’rent Strokes’ Gary Coleman.


Prince Rogers Nelson popularly known as ‘His Purple Majesty’ or Prince is only 5”2. The womanizing extrovert, he is an American singer-songwriter and actor and can play multiple instruments. He is the proud producer of ten platinum album and Top 40 singles during his career. He has written a number of songs, which were produced and recorded, under his own music label. Songs like ‘Purple Rain’, ‘When Doves Cry’ and ‘Beautiful Girl’, are some of the best hits from his collection.

At the time of his retirement in 1990, he had in to his credit 8,833 races, including four Kentucky Derbies, five Belmont Stakes, and three Preakness Stakes. He is also known to be the first jockey to win more than $100 million.

David Ben-Gurion

He was the key founder and the first prime minister of Israel. He ruled the country for six years as a prime minister and brought in many major changes. Because of his passion for Zionism, Gurion became a major Zionist leader. In 1946, he also led the World Zionist Organization as its Executive Head. Acting as head of the Jewish Agency and president of the Jewish Agency Executive later, he was given charge of the Jewish community in Palestine as a de facto leader. He strongly supported the Jewish independence fight for British ruled Palestine. On 14 May 1948, he officially declared the establishment of the State of Israel thus became known as ‘founding father’ of Israel. Though he had a short height of just 5 feet, he rose to skyrocket fame.

Vanessa Chantal Paradis

Born in December 22, 1972, is a French singer, model and actress with a height of 5 feet 3 inches. At the age of 14, she shot to fame as a child star with the global success of her single Joe le taxi. Since 1991, she has been a spokesmodel for Chanel.

Joseph Stalin

Stalin served the Communist Party of the Soviet Union’s Central Committee as the General Secretary from 1922 until 1953During his service, he established the rule that is now known as Stalinism. He steadily merged power and became the de facto party leader and autocrat of the Soviet Union.

Apart from these famous names who are short in height, there are many other who inspire and encourage us to chase our dream and make them come true. Height is though an important factor but for success, we need to b determined and devoted towards our goal, working hard for it will definitely help us to fulfill it
