Healthy food to eat:

Fruits and vegetables are low in calories and are packed with nutrients. They contain rich concentrations of vitamins, minerals, and oxidants. Green, leafy vegetable like spring onions, the red and green variety of leafy greens, cabbage are full of calcium, magnesium, iron, potassium, and zinc. They are also rich in vitamins A, C, E, and K.

Sweet vegetables like corn, carrots, beets, sweet potato yams and onions add sweetness to your food and decrease the craving for candies and sweets. Fruits are tasty and provide the necessary fiber, vitamins and antioxidants. Berries are cancer-fighting, apples contain rich fiber and iron, oranges and mangoes are rich in vitamin C. Grapes, pomegranate, figs, guavas are other healthy recommendations.

Whole grain like wheat, brown rice, etc are good because they help digestion, and are health foods. Oils from plants, groundnut oil, and olive oil are easily digested. Nuts, like almonds, pistachios, walnuts, and hazelnuts, and seeds such as pumpkin seeds and sesame seeds are advised diets.

Fish, such as salmon, mackerel, sardines and some fresh water fish are good for the diet. Fats, found in red meats and whole milk dairy products, margarines, cracker biscuits, candied sweets, snack foods, fried foods and other foods made from hydrogenated vegetable oils should be avoided.
