Some people go for expensive treatment but the hair problems reappear. Natural methods are safe, effective and not to forget they totally fit into your budget. Try these six DIY (Do It Yourself) hair masks which you can prepare with simple ingredients and enjoy the benefits.

1. Milk – Honey mask

Milk is rich in protein while honey has moisturizing properties. When you add up both into one treatment then it can do wonders for your hair. You just need to add one teaspoon of honey to one glass of milk and massage your scalp with this mix thoroughly from root to entire length of hair. Leave it for 15 minutes and then rinse it off with cold water.

2. Coconut – castor oil mask

Coconut oil and castor oil are popular for hair growth, anti microbial and moisturizing properties. Castor oil also makes your hair thick, glossy and treat split ends. Mix 5 tablespoons of coconut oil and castor oil in equal amount and then apply it on the scalp. Massage it thoroughly from scalp to root shaft and hair strand. Cover your head with a shower cap or warm steamed towel. Leave it for one hour or more. Rinse it off with cold water and then wash it with a mild shampoo.

3. Aloe Vera – olive oil mask

Aloe Vera is a medicinal plant and that is why product containing aloe Vera is very expensive. But a homemade mask is easy to make and without any expenses. To make this mask you need 4 – 5 tablespoons of Aloe Vera, 3 – 4 tablespoons of olive oil and 2 – 3 tablespoons of egg yolks. Heat the olive oil a little and then mix the above mentioned ingredients and make a paste. Apply this on your hair with a hair brush evenly and leave it for 4 – 5 hours. Wash it off with a mild shampoo. The regular application of this hair mask for 8 – 10 days can give you healthy and shiny hair.

4. Banana – Honey hair mask

Banana and honey both have moisturizing agents which can cure dryness of your hair. Regular use of this treatment for two times a week can give you amazing results. To make this hair mask you need one mashed banana, one egg, 3 tablespoons milk, 3 tablespoons of honey and 5 tablespoons of olive oil. Mix all the mentioned ingredients in a bowl to make a thick paste and apply this on your hair. Leave it for 15 to 30 minutes and then rinse it off with cold water. Wash your hair with a mild shampoo. This will make your hair moisturized and soft.

5. Egg mask

The simplest hair mask and the most commonly used one because it can be prepared very easily by just taking an egg or two (depends on the hair length) and add 2 – 3 drops of lemon juice to get rid of its smell. Beat the egg until froth appears and then apply it on your scalp and entire length of hair. Cover it with a shower cap or steamed towel for 20 – 30 minutes. Rinse it off with cold water and then wash it with a mild shampoo. People with oily scalp and hair should use egg white instead of whole egg. This protein treatment makes your hair soft and shiny.

6. Oatmeal – almond oil mask

This hair mask will suit best to the people with oily scalp, dandruff, scalp infection or inflammation because this treatment helps in getting rid of extra oil, fighting dandruff and protecting hair follicles. Thus it helps in improving health of the scalp and new hair growth. To make this mask, you need oatmeal, milk and almond oil. Mix the ingredients well to make a paste. Comb your hair gently and remove all the tangles. Apply this paste on your scalp and the entire hair length. Leave it for 15 – 20 minutes and rinse it off with cold or lukewarm water. You can use this treatment once in a week.
